Susan Underhill, trauma therapist in NC
You’re done just surviving-now it’s time to start living.
Even when it doesn’t feel like it, healing is still possible
you don't have to find the way aloneI’m here to help you find calm, clarity, and confidence from within
So many people I work with have already tried talking, thinking, and analyzing their way through stress and anxiety. But when your body is still on alert, no amount of reasoning can make it fully let go. That’s where I come in. I help you work with your body’s natural rhythms to create real lasting change- the kind you can feel.
Whether you're healing form trauma, managing anxiety, or just feeling stuck in patterns that don’t serve you anymore, our work will help you reconnect with your own inner steadiness.
MY APPROACH
My approach is warm, collaborative, and brain-based. I bring together neuroscience, mindfulness, and compassion to support healing from the inside out.
In our work together, you’ll learn about your nervous system and why you have the symptoms you do. We’ll work on calming and regulation. I may use Brainspotting to help you release trauma and disturbing experiences you continue to feel in your body.
Sessions are often more about allowing your system to come back into alignment- creating more calm connection and ease everyday life- rather than just taking about your problems.
As you release and regulate, you’ll begin to notice a shift. You will feel less anxious and reactive. When you slow down to respond, you’ll experience a greater sense of clarity and confidence and connection. You’ll come home to yourself.
As your healing continues, we’ll work on whatever continues to come up for you- boundaries, self-care, communication, relationships- until you’ve gained the skills and confidence you were looking for. If you
Youve already taken an important step by finding me. Now let’s help your mind and body find their way back to calm.
